Robbe F-14 Radio ???.......... - Any input on your experience........

Trying to decide what radio to use in my first boat. My RC experience is in helicopters using Century radio's. I would like a system that will work either single or double screw, and have enough expansion to use a working ballast and the various sub-safe electronics. I see the Robbe has twin sticks on one side.......is it reliable compared to Futaba or Airtronics? Just need some friendly input, and thank you for taking the time to answer.

Kurt all i can say about the F-14 is....they are sweet!! you can build it any way you want too.

The F-14 comes in two

The F-14 comes in two types. One with the navy stick setup and the normal version with two normal stick (which I use). Here in Europe they are the standard in Boat-transmitters. Lots of functions possible with it. Many different expancion mods. available. I use this transmitter for a fully working Seabex model (offshore supply/researchship). It never let me down.

I have an F14 Navy

I have an F14 Navy and I love it. The twin speed controls are easy to use. I have added a bunch of expansions and use it to run my Engel fleet boat. I have individual shaft controls, rudder, stern plane pitch, bow plane pitch, bow plane retracts, piston tank diving system, and still have lots of switches and servo controls available.

It's a great system!!!

I have an FC-16, which is basically a computerised F14. A superb set. Unfortunately for those in the US, I don't think you can get it on your surface band frequency.

However the F14 is an excellent second best.

I have an F 14

I have an F 14 - It really is the dogs cahunas! I have the two sliders installed to contrl the fore and aft dive planes and an on-centre off-on switch to control the ballast pump.
It is expandable to any degree you like (well, who's going to need 100 ish channels on a sub?).
