Does anyone have an Engel Typhoon with a mast-kit that they wouldn't mind taking a couple of "up-close" snap shots of? (BTW, it's just the masts I'm looking for, not the mechanism.) I'm just about to build the masts for my OSCAR II and I could sure use some "really close" photographic references. Any help is much appreciated!

Hi Tim,
Thanks for posting that link. Although I've already got that site bookmarked, I'd actually forgoten to check there... From his drawing, it's mast #4 that I'd really like to see. Unfortunately he's either chosen to extend that mast, or he's taken significant artistic liberties in its construction.
I know there's a Russian outfit that's got an Akula that shows some really nice shots of their mast heads.

Unfortunately everyone's interpretation seems to be slightly different...Kevin McLeod - OSCAR II driver

Thanks again Tim. I've been in perpetual contact with Wayne on this project. I can safely say that it wouldn't be what it is without his photographic assistance, but I think I've already exhausted even his resources on this one. I'm happy to be proven wrong though!

the radar mast of the Oscar has only ONE radar antenna and not 2 like for the typhoon.
The details of the masts in the Polar Bear plans seem accurate.

Thanks Wayne.
Antoine- Am I correct in suspecting that the photos with the watermarked "5" in the upper right hand corner are actually an OSCAR? They certainly look it!Kevin McLeod - OSCAR II driver

Unfortunatly not.
It is a typhoon again. Captures made from a french TV doc. Impressive program with the TK20 as a guest star
I have another doc about the Kursk (same channel, the 5th one) I will dig out any good infos for you if there is...No bow planes view though, I am sure of that
Antoine
PS : please show me that picture of the Oscar "Cod Eye", the big antenna. I would be curious to see it.

For the benefit of the non-SubPirateers, I'll repost this here]http://www.subcommittee.com/forum/COD_EYE_door.jpg[/img]
And I have also found a photo of COD EYE raised on an ECHO class sub. I'm going on the assumption that it's looks haven't changed much. (But I'm certainly open to being surprised about that...)
