Trafalgar,

How does that help with the servo?

Paul,

I'm working on it - have an idea up my sleeve. If it works I'll post a 'how-to' here for everyone.

I was about to type

I was about to type out a huge long post about using micro-controllers to evaluate the PWM (pulse width modulation)signal exiting the RX and then switch certain relays based on that. BUT why not wire the switches directly to the motor? Let me explain]Completed Modification
Completed Modification2

On my TX I have a knob that you have turn - knob gets turn left, servo goes left and vice versa. Each time a press of the microswitch stops the servo moving. Perfect!

The wiring schematic for the switches and motor is shown below and comes from the SONAR program UBCalc written by Andreas Jungmann. (Give credit where credit is due]Wiring Schematic
The problems you may have when you try to carry out this modification the removal of the motor from the circuits. In order for the motor to be successfully separated you have to cut the PCB (printed circuit board), scape off the green top layer (solder mask?) and underneath you have a contact point that you can solder to. I also found that the contacts on the right microswitch has to be reversed.

Any questions please ask.

Paul,
It seems your the one who should be in pampers And,
seeing as though I've spent most of my evening doing this, how about an apology?

Thanks Mike,
...and why would I need to do that?

It looks like (with the electronize switcher anyway) that you plug the motor into the terminal blocks.
Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
What I need is a simple circuit diagram that details the connection of the micro switches at the ends of the periscope travel to prevent excessive movement.

Interestingly, I tried the modified servo method and it take a good minute to get the scope to go up!!! The bleedin' convoy would have gone by that time!!!!!!! ]

Well, that is nearer the mark.
As for the nappy remark, you annoyed me - so you dont get an apology. If I knew how to do it all, then I wouldnt have started this thread unless I had 'nothing better to do.'
Despite this Mike, thanks for managing to find the answers.
