    conversions of the Revell U 212 A ?

    Hi all,

does anybody know any R/C conversions of the Revell
    U 212 A german sub ?

This thing is smaller than the Kilo, but it seems possible.

I was wondering if someone had succeeded already.

    Going to start this weekend.

Going to start this weekend. I have the kit and wtc material. I also have the motor and esc. I also am planning on doing a micro piston tank. The plan is to use a gws receiver, a Mamba 25 brushless motor, a 12mm Feigao brushless motor and a apc4. Email me and perhaps we can exchange ideas.

Is that the CN models USS Dallas on your webpage? I have their Dallas, an Alfa and their Akula as well. I also have the 212 as well. I bought these with the objective of doing RC conversions but then moved from an apartment to a house so I can now have bigger boats.

              Are you using Subtechs seals?

How successful have you been running these small subs? Do you have any video?

              Thanks

                I found out my friendly

I found out my friendly neighbourhood hardware store sells
thin walled sh**pipe (pvc) with an inner diameter of 4 cm.
This is apparently a special but standard size over here in
                holland
Unless I can find something 2 mm larger, this will do nicely.
(once the kilo is swimming properly..)

                    Byron,

                    That is indeed that is

                    Byron,

That is indeed that is a CN model.
I too have an Alfa and Akula by CN Models.

I use two different types of seals for the control surfaces.
                    1) I use 1/16 dia brass thats connects to the servos and exit through the next size larger brass tubing. A little lite oil on the two ( also there is the warer surface tension that I am counting on).
I also have used smaller brass tubing 1/32. Don't recomend that.

2)I also use larger brass 1/8" tubing with Dubro seals.

As for the motor shaft seals I drill a hole that will allow the bronze bearing to pass through in the end cap and place a plastic tube over it and fill with grease. I hope that was clear. I had trouble following that!!!

I try to keep it simple.

The only video I have is the 1/60th Flying Sub.
I should start shooting more video of thes subs before I retire them (four of them retired Flying Sub, Skip Jack, Type IX and I401 also 1 small Tug boat)
I am using Sub Tech seals on my Kilo.

                    Enjoy

                      I don't know if I

I don't know if I will ever finish the Dallas... I just needed an excuse to build another small WTC. I think I even documented 50-60% (maybe more) of its construction.
The plan was to make a WTC that was not dedicated to a sub.
As a rule my WTC can not be removed. I have many of sub (small) to experiment with. I even toyed with the idea of a kit for small WTC's. I do have about 50 or so 40mm tubes to play with if the urge strikes me. I have started another small WTC w/ballast, but the lenght is too long. Oh well on to the next...

I made a small sub years ago with too large (torque) motor that torqued the boat over and ran in that configuration.

Thanks for the info on how you do your seals. What diameter is the tube for the Dallas, 40mm as well?

I bought some GWS submicroreceivers on 75Mhz and Pico submicro servos to convert these little boats. I also have an interesting motorized small Typhoon and motorized Stingray that are just waiting to be converted as well.

Do you have a link to the video of your Flying Sub? I have the Aurora model sitting downstairs unbuilt in the basement although I am much more fond of Rick Tesky's 16 inch model for the room.
