what is the big brother program ?
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest and largest youth mentoring organization in the United States, matching caring adults with children, ages five-to-18 years old, in one-to-one relationships.Littles are from single and two-parent homes, from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. The genesis of a match is that a parent, guardian or teacher believes that a child could benefit from the presence of an additional caring adult in his/her life. The parent or guardian gives permission for the child to participate.

My first thought is to go for the BLUEBACK kit from Dave Manley's Small World Models. From what I've seen the kit is easy to put together and get into the water. Also, the real BLUEBACK is on permanent display at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland. They have a great website.

          Patrick,

          Patrick,

Are you looking for a kit to build and finally put in the water, or are you looking for something to put in the water as soon as possible? if you are looking to get something to go in the water quickly, get the blueback, but it has very little left to build. You could have that in the water after a weekend of work. If, on the other hand, you are looking to build something like you had to do with the Akula, I would recommend the subtech Albacore. It is constructed very similar to the Akula, but is larger, and designed to have more functions, like a ballast tank.

            The one my little brother

The one my little brother keeps asking me about is the SSN 774 USS Virginia Class from submarineworks. Time is one thing I am thinking about
I know kids get bored fast but I do want some hands on so he gets to know how everything works. If anyone know about this Virginia Class Kit

                Pete is a great guy

Pete is a great guy and does super work on his hulls. He won top prize with his stuff at the 05 SubRegatta. Keep in mind that it is a hull kit and you would need to get a WTC to make it operational.
