Newbie needs help with Custom Typhoon - Making a custom sub similar to a typhoon

Hello, I am in the proccess of designing and building a RC sub from scratch. It will be based off the Russian Typhoon however it will have some slight changes. The sub will be approximatly 6 feet long, 1 foot wide and 9 inches tall (not including tower). Some friends and I are custom making almost everything including the 2 way RC transmitter/reciever. Anyways, being new we are not sure what size/type of prop as well as its max RPM, what RPM/torque motor we need, and what kind of gearing we need. We are not that interested in keeping it to scale speed, we basically want this to be as fast as possible with a reasonably long battery life. (For batteries we are looking for similar ones to the graupner 12v / 28Ah batteries, speaking of which know of a cheap place for these let me know). So anyone that has some advice or questions on this let me know.

    Update]http://www.shipsnthings.com most only go up

Update]http://www.shipsnthings.com[/url] most only go up to 3" but one type goes up to 5". Basically what i need help with now is to figure out which prop will provide the most thrust given its rated max RPMs (which i assume is the speed it will start cavitating) and i need to know how much torque i would need from the motor to get it moving at that speed. Really need the help so if you can help in the least bit put in your two cents. Thanks.
