New Arrival! - Type XV11b  WOW!!

Well guys, I got a nice package today from my friendly deliveryman. A very nice Type XV11b U-boat hull kit from Steve Neill. I will have to say his first attempt at producing an epoxy glass submarine hull is nothing short of excellent. I could not be happier with his work. I don’t know if he is making another run of hulls, but anyone that passed on reserving one of these really missed out on a great deal. I would be knocking on his door pleading with him to make a few more. He did a great job on the CD instruction manual as well. I can’t wait to get started on this project. I will post some photos as I build this model so you can drool over what you missed. You can look but don’t touch because this one is mine. HANDS OFF!!!! Great job my friend! BD.

        Steve,

The last time I heard, BD was covered in fiberglass dust, so he must be working on something. I can see a mushroom cloud over his house from here

          Right now I am in

Right now I am in the stare at it and think mode. I did trim the hulls to the cut lines. I hate that, what a mess!!!!! Still not sure on how I will go with the build.
Paul is waiting in the wings for any input. I was not a big XV11b fan at first, but the more I look at it the more I like it. It is one cool boat!! Thanks for building them. BD.

            Ah it's not that bad.

Ah it's not that bad. I should have cut it closer for you with the dremel.

Well now that that's done stop starring and build. It builds so fast it will make your head spin. LOL!!

              Not bad at all. You

Not bad at all. You did a good job trimming it. This stuff just makes me itch. I was in the driveway it was 33 Deg and the wind was blowing dressed in inviro-gear. That must have been a sight! Not to worry! I will start soon. Just to many cool installation possibilities. BD.

                              Dave,

                              Looks great! Thanks for

                              Dave,

Looks great! Thanks for showing the pushrod and shaft supports. Now it makes a little more sense on the how-to. Is that plastic tubing in the brass inserts i see there? neat trick!

Look forward to seeing more! Can't wait to see you lay down some paint and weathering!
