    [color=#000000]U-178,

    I keep getting lekkages in my (Homebuild) pistontanks. Aluminium casing ans a very strong kinda lexan piston. The lexan is also used in advertising systems and is about 3cm. thick. When I work with it on my lathe it get warm so I make the piston the same size as the innerdiameter of the casing. After cooling down it fits like a glove with a minimum of play. When I test them (3mm O-rings as seals) they tend to leak after half a hour. Could this be that the (cold) water makes the piston shrink more then it does the alu. casing.

    So my question is]

      Danny,

      sounds like not enaugh presure

      Danny,

      sounds like not enaugh presure on the O-Ring. These tolerances of different water temperatures shouldn't make sense.

      Please mail me pictures for a diagnose

        Hi Danny,

        I also don’t think

        Hi Danny,

        I also don’t think it came from the shrinking. I think your o-ring don’t fit properly. It’s hard to say more without pictures.
