6 channel radioNew Spektrum radio - 6 channel

Horizon Hobbies has announced their new Spektrum 6 channel park flyer radio system. It operates on 2.4 GHz, 80 channels are available in that frequency range. No more having to change crystals or dial in the freq on synthesized units. It's supposed to sell for $199.99. Receivers are supposed to sell for around $55. The radio has a 10 model memory.

You’ll say goodbye to channel concerns at RC sites. Glitching and range impairment from motor, servo, ESC and mechanical RF “noise” will be a thing of the past. And no form of channel selection will be necessary on your part. When you fire up your DX6, it searches for, selects and locks onto clear channels. (There are 80 channels in the 2.4GHz band.) And because international regulation of the band is very strict, your radio will neither sustain interference from – nor cause interference to – any other 2.4GHz device worldwide. And that applies, of course, to its simultaneous operation near other 2.4GHz RC radios as well.

Some of ther/c car guys have been using this type of system for over a year. It should work in our subs.

    I don't see how it

I don't see how it will work in the subs any better than the 2.4ghz video equipment that has already been found to work extremely poorly in subs.

perhaps I am completely wrong here, but I don't think the 2.4ghz radio frequencies have any potential of penetrating through water.
