WTC Location in hull-upper or lower?

I have a question which has been burning me for months...

While building my Trumpeter Seawolf this year, I glued the stern to the top half of the hull as well as the nose cone.. the bottom half bolts to a band I made that fastens to the upper hull..

My question is do you see a problem with the WTC being mounted
to the top half of the hull while the batteries will be in a separate
tube under the main WTC? Kinda like a figure 8 configuration.

Any ideas..will this work ok?

If you have the room

If you have the room in the hull, that should work very well, as it should greatly improve the stability of the boat by increasing the metacentric height.

Be aware that if the wtc sticks above the waterline, you will need a larger tank to submerge the boat.

I don't think I will this time, I will be using PVC piping to house the electronics and another to house the batteries..
I would love to use D cell batteries that have..those have a great
4500mah rating and I know they run my largest ship for HOURS..
so I'm thinking about building it as dynamic diver for now and then later upgrade it to a RCABS style and see how well that works

Given the size of a "D" cell, why not use 4/3 "A" cells such as the SubTech/Mikes SubWorks NMH45? They're also 4500 MAH but a whole heck of a lot smaller.

You might want to check out my boat. I used pvc for the conversion and it works well. The on thing that I have noticed is that the boat is a pig and a half on the surface, so as for making it a static diver, the maneuverability might not be that great. I am making a new prop to help alleviate the problem.
