    Mannis Kilo Class - 1:40 scratch build

    Hello,

    This is Manfred Schröder’s scratch build of a Kilo class submarine. It’s the most accurate Kilo I’ve ever saw.

                I'll second Pablo's question

                Fantastic work!

                I'll second Pablo's question about the doors which cover the openings for the bow planes- I'd also like to know if they close up to cover the opening when the planes are extended as well...

                It looks to me as though the torpedo tube doors are set up to be functional as well- as there any shots of the inside of the hull in this area?

                  I am also curious about the bow planes doors, and the torpedo doors as well as Kevin noticed.
                  Is there any chance to see pics of the insides? BTW, very clean scopes set up...
                  Thanks a lot for sharing.

                    Gentlemen, the bow planes are functional and behind doors. I think I remember the torpedo doors are functional, but I have to check this.

                    @Gerwalk

                    I ask Manni about the panels. I'm pretty sure they are around the hull, but I can not confirm this.

                      Here's the info about the torpedo tubes. The upper two doos are functional. Behind these doors there are two electrical torpedoes. When the torpedoes gets fired, the tube is blown out with compressed air from an extra pressure tank. after the torpedo left the tube, the electrical motor starts to run.

                      The other 4 doors are closed by a spring. Behind there are several screws and valves for the torpedoes.
