Submarine Electronics - Status Report please?

What is the status of the vendors and their products in supplying our submarine hobby electronics needs? I got a disturbing phone call from Michigan stating it might be bleak. I frankly do not know. Skip Asay was reliably and dependably always our 'IBM' of this vital strategic resource. He has sold his business to a gentleman in England. Are we in real trouble, or was this phone call a lot of wind? I see Thor's products....I suspect it could be just wind.
