Help on wet interior of recovered sub

    Hi All
I hope I can get some help on this issue. This past weekend my Type VII sunk and was recovered about a half hour later tangled in some weeds. It is a Robbe boat and the ring dod not seat properly. Plot error!!! ugh. Any way she took on lots of water in the dry spaces and the entire receiver was submerged. I dried out all interior parts. Power is going to apc, and control unit for engel 500ml system. But there is no signal being received to activate servoes or speed control for motors or anything else. Is the receiver screwed? If so I hope I can get another.
    Thanks in advance

    Dave,

Make sure you soak the RX in alcohol and clean it off with a medium firm brush. Do this to any other circuits you think might of taken on water and you'll be fine.

You were in fresh water from the sounds of it better still as pool water will really screws things up but even in that case if you clean it and dry it off well you'll be good to go. Been there done that!

There is a product out there called "Corrosion X" --
        www.corrosionX.com

I bought a few bottles years ago (wow, I think was 12 years ago). Its a oily nonflamable dielectric anti-rust/corrosion fluid. I have treated all my electronic components with this (radios, receviers, servos, solder joints). Seems to do what it says - no corrosion and works well.

          Just a quick follow up.

Just a quick follow up. I did as suggested and the receiver seems to work fine . I tested it with a battery and other servo. I will now have to wait to get it back up to the cottage and hook it back up to sub. I did not bring sub home. I wont be back up their until the Labour day weekend. If it works I wont run it again because of weeds. I will just test the system and retrim if needed,
