I want to install a kill switch in my boat, but I don`t have the room to install it in its own wtc,so I thought to try to waterproof it somehow and run it wet.Ithought that I was reading some where how to do this but I forgit where I saw it

two possable answers come to mind , the cheap option is to put the switch in a kids Balloon , the expensive option would be an Engal Magnetic on/off Switch
I have seen that Engal switch,is it the same thing as a proximity switch that is controlled magnetically. Also how does a reed switch work.I am not real knowledgeable with electronic things,so please bear with me. If the proximity switch will work,I can get one dirt cheap through an electronics parts cataloge that I get.
Thanks,
TD
if you can find an older tape answering machine you might find a double reed setup (or just buy a set) and can make the circuit described in Norbert Brungen's book.
If you have a flat surface that can have the bat handle of a normal off-on switch protruding through the WTC, Mallory makes a very neat rubberized handle cover that slips over the bat handle. The rubber cover fits the threads of the switch and has a rubber gasket on the bottom to seal everything up. They are cheap and come in several colors. One justs slips the cover over the handle, screws the nut and cover onto the switch, and tightens it down until it's snug against the flat surface of the WTC. Presto -- a watertight switch with a visable bat handle protruding above the WTC!
Thanks for that, but I don`t have any room anywhere for a toggle switch.I need to be able to hide the switch but still be able to axcess the switch without tearing the boat apart to shut down the system.
