Bondo and Epoxy resin - materials

Has anyone used Bondo (polyester resin) to fill dents on an epoxy resin fibreglass hull? Are there any compatibilty problems or special surface preparations required?

    Thanks

      hey Marvin, besides my hulls

hey Marvin, besides my hulls having a rough outer "Crust" of fibeglass that has been rough sanded, the rest of the subs are almost 100% Bondo, and spot putty that have been smoothed out..... Sticks just like super glue.. Jeff

            Polyester filler is highly absorbent-

Polyester filler is highly absorbent- I think it's the talc they use to bulk out the resin that absorbs moisture.

However, I've never found it to be an issue on sub hulls, as they're only in the water for short periods at a time i.e. two hours or so.

If you moored it up at the keyside for days on end, then things might be different...........!
