Scale Shipyards Submarine - 1/96 Balao

I’m interested in finding out if anyone is currently working on or has completed the Scale Shipyards 1/96 Balao submarine. I'm curious to see and hear what you have done with your sub and what references as far as detailing you found.

I just ordered one from Lee. I will be getting a SWM 2.75 for it, and will be installing the Merirman tropedo system. The build up I have planed for it is a cold war guppy conversion.

I have one with the

I have one with the SMW WTC 2.75. I'm probably abouy 50% complete, and will have it at the Sub Regatta - for display. I've got the hull halves joined, and then cut them parallel to the waterline. WTC mounts are in. The rudder stuffing tube and stern planes shaft are in. The limber holes are cut, torpedo doors scribed, short bilge keels installed. I've got the fore deck and part of the after deck on. The WTC is completed and ready to go with Futaba servos, SubTech motor drive units, APC, and Subsafe. I'm using a Sombra Labs Shadow 1 synthesized rx good for all 50, 72, & 75 MHz frequencies. All radio and drive systems have been checked on the bench and are operational. Look for the USS HAMMERHEAD SS-364 at the Sub Regatta.
