Would there be a problem waterproofing the the male/female plugs that disconnect the main battery with Dielectric Grease.I thought that because I do that in automotive applications that the same thing would apply to sub connections .

Using Dielectric greas will waterproof your connections and if you use it as a switch you could RTV the positive terminal as it would be more permanent and then use the Dielectric grease on the negative terminal both will work well with what you are trying to do Keep a watch out for blue corrosion and keep it clean at the terminals I have done this with my thor Seawolf and my Manta Sturgeon and also am doing it with my Dutch 1/60 scale Walrus class boat "Zeeleeuw" It works fine Dr Dave
If you are running in fresh water, why bother to waterproof your battery connections. Fresh water is a pretty good insulator. This advice does not apply to running in chlorinated pools.
