New $175 RC sub from Small World Models - Littoral Attack SEAL Delivery (LASD) Sub

I just received a note from Dave manley of Small World Models about the new "budget priced - $175" RC sub kit he will be releasing soon.

Hi Tim, Ran first sea trials today on the LASD mini sub, it ran fantastic but for some frustrating radio interference. It was a lot of fun with great maneuvering and stability.

I will paint it with a camo scheme of black, light brown and sea green, should look cool. LASD is for Littoral Attack SEAL Delivery. The cost will be $175. and will come with motors.

I should start taking orders in a few weeks.

This is a fantasy sub

This is a fantasy sub of my own design, it is 1/96 scale but could be painted and detailed any way one would wish. It was just my idea of a small sub that could attack ships and deliver seals in a small package and small cost, in my mind it would be very automated and have only a five-man crew and carry 25 seals if needed.
It would be armed with two loaded Mk 48’s and deliver the teams through a nose mounted swim out tube.
It will be fun to paint it with a cammo scheme.

The small size will make it a nice model for small ponds/pools.

I will build one for Sion as soon as the S-33 is done. we will get Sion and Alex (and us) zooming these things around your pool this summer.
I think the blue and grey splinter scheme will be the way to go for Sion's boat.

Through both my personal website and the SubCommittee website, the most common question is "Where can I get a good starter model?"

This is the perfect way to introduce someone to the hobby without them having to fork out nearly a thousand bucks. Dynamic diver it may be, but it's also perfect for learning the ropes.

I second the notion that this will be a great seller.
