USS Albacore seems just as difficult to build - compared to teh USS Permit by THOR

I was looking at THORE DESIGN website on how to buildthe USS Permit, it doesnt seem much more difficult than building the USS Albacore. The WTC is already made by D&E 3" so thats one thing you dont have to worry about. On the Albacore you have to make the WTC. You have to make the ballast tank with the pump. Also the drive motor and the linkages must be properly cut into the WTC. So that alone will take a much longer time to build. Am i correct? I havent seen a D&E WTC in person but judging from the pics it looks like all the servo mounts, motor, and ballast are already pre made. All you have to do it drop it in the hull. The hull itself looks like the same amount of work comparing the albacore to the Permit. The albacore hull needs to be trimmed and needs auto putty to make it look all pretty just like teh Permit. The Flood holes need tp be cut out for both hulls. how to build

    It will take almost as

[color=#000000]It will take almost as much time to install the servos, ESC, rx, APC, and Subsafe in the D&E WTC as it does to build the SubTech WTC and install all the components.

You'll have to do the following things with a D&E WTC]

      They are both great kits

They are both great kits - and are as tried and true as any rc sub kit available. When picking a sub kit, the thing to keep in mind is which submarine do you like best? Which one looks the coolest, or has the history in which you are most interested in, etc. That one will give you the most enjoyment when you are running it, showing it to your disbelieving friends, etc. Nobody can make that decision except you.

Of course some of us have the problem of liking too many subs so we have a constant drain on the bank account!
