    Attention Skip Asay from Subtech

Ive tried to contact you several times regarding the back order of the decal sheet for my Albacore. Ive called you and sent several emails. You havent responded to any of the emails but ive managed to talk to you on the phone and you said they were still on back order. 4 years have passed and im still waiting for those decals.. Are they still on backorder or what?????

    Regards,

      [B]4 YEARS; I"d give up
I was debating whether or not if i should include the amount of time ive been waiting because i might get a response that i should "give up waiting after 4 years"

well im not going to give up waiting because im a slow builder myself and i just got my sub in the water not too long ago. I want it complete looking for what i paid for which is alot of $$ for me.

Thank you for your advice but put youself into my position and you will be frustrated looking at a naked black color albacore.

          Shawn,

I am 99% sure I have a set that I don't use. Drop me a mail with your mailing address and I will put what I have in the mail.

Glad to hear that you are making progress on your Albacore, just as an FYI Skip has decided to retire so officially any follow up should be done with SubTech in Europe or Mikes Subworks in North America and not Skip.

          Cheers
          BC

                Many thanks for that BC.

                Shawn,
On the matter of contacting Skip Asay, Skip sold SubTech to me back in September 2004. I am not sure how recently you tried to contact him regarding the Albacore Dry Transfers, but Skip certainly never had any in stock when we I took over the business.

I am about to place an order for these and I hope to receive them within the next 2 to 3 weeks. I am also aware that Skip never managed to produce the Dry Transfer sets for the Marlin kits, but this was due to uncertainty about the accuracy of the drawing that he had originally produced for the transfers, not for any other reason . Provided I can resolve this, I hope to place an order for these within the next 2 weeks, for delivery in early May.

                As BC has already mentioned;
If you live in USA or Canada then Mike’s Subworks is your local distributor for SubTech if you wish to place an order or have any queries or problems. If Mike is not able to help, he will refer any queries or problems directly to me.

                Dave Keogh – SubTech UK

                  I would think a set

I would think a set of generic dry transfers of the hull numbers and draft markings for everybody would be welcomed in common scales, say,
                  1/96 and 1/72.
Something to think about if you are going to have some made.....

                    a set of generic dry

I use Woodland Scenics dry transfers, blank clear waterslide decal paper, and a 3M Post-It sticky note. I make marks at scale 1 foot intervals on the sticky note; along the edge with the glue. I put the sticky note on my blank decal paper, and use the marks to align the dry transfer numbers. The sticky note helps keep the numbers in a straight line. After all the sets of draft marks are made on the decal paper, the homemade decals are applied to the model.
