    There are plenty of places

There are plenty of places on the kilo that you can open up to flood the boat. Type VII uboats have an excess of flooding holes- you don't need that many to vent a (model) sub.

    For materials for DIY wtc-

Acrylic tubing and sheet at very good prices can be found here-

Wrights GPX is the #1 UK POS manufacturer. Choose from 1000s of POS retail display products online at 'direct' prices & free UK delivery on selected orders.

email them and ask for the catalogue detailing acrylic tubing and sheet.

Also EMA's are a good source for tubing and hemispherical endcaps. Bit more expensive than GPX, but good quality, and they do a range of ABS tubing too (easier to work than acrylic, doesn't absorb moisture etc.).

EMA's don't have a website, but they do a great catalogue. You can telephone or snail mail them-

    E M A Model Supplies Ltd

    Tel: (01932) 228228
    Fax: (01932) 253766

    Unit 2
    Shepperton Business Park

Also Trylon do a good range of stuff-

    Hope that helps.

        The GPX site doesn't list

The GPX site doesn't list the acrylic tubing, but they do supply it. As I stated, you need to email them about it, and they'll send you a catalogue with a pricelist of their tubing and flat sheet (they also sell polycarbonate sheet, but unfortunately not tubing).

The Seaquest isn't mine. It's built by a chap called Andy Cox, a professional pattern maker. Those pictures were taken a number of years ago, and the project was mothballed whilst Andy concentrated on another more demanding scratchbuild project- raising a couple of kids!

Last I heard, he was back working on the beast. Don't know if it's seen the wet and slippery stuff yet though.
