[color=#000000]Hi to all the modellers across the pond. I have been looking on with interest for a month or two now and I am very impressed with the RC converstion work on the Revell and Kilo kits.
A couple of questions]

There are plenty of places

There are plenty of places on the kilo that you can open up to flood the boat. Type VII uboats have an excess of flooding holes- you don't need that many to vent a (model) sub.

Also EMA's are a good source for tubing and hemispherical endcaps. Bit more expensive than GPX, but good quality, and they do a range of ABS tubing too (easier to work than acrylic, doesn't absorb moisture etc.).

Thanks for the info I tried doing a search for acrylic tubing with no luck on the first site that you suggested no luck.
By the way your Seaquest looks cool ,what is the current sate of progress?

The GPX site doesn't list

The GPX site doesn't list the acrylic tubing, but they do supply it. As I stated, you need to email them about it, and they'll send you a catalogue with a pricelist of their tubing and flat sheet (they also sell polycarbonate sheet, but unfortunately not tubing).

The Seaquest isn't mine. It's built by a chap called Andy Cox, a professional pattern maker. Those pictures were taken a number of years ago, and the project was mothballed whilst Andy concentrated on another more demanding scratchbuild project- raising a couple of kids!


Last I heard, he was back working on the beast. Don't know if it's seen the wet and slippery stuff yet though.
