Lights on the Type VIIc U-Boat - What color?

I've completed the OTW Type VIIc hull with the brass tower. There are a total of 4 lanterns; one on each side of the tower, one located below the winter garden in the trailing edge of the tower, and one located in a housing at the stern. What color were these lanterns? I plan on using LEDs for show....
