Run of bad luck the last two days..

I think the title said it all, the past two days has been bad luck for both projects. the new servos I got, only one works so now I have to wait til I get the replacement servo, the new ESC should be in
Wed-ish. but after working this morning and then help my wife clear out the bedroom, we are repainting the house and now it'sthis room
where the computers are located.. I was showing my wife the setup with the rcabs for the Kilo..one thing I di was hook up the voltage wrong..polarity wise...sparks flew..then smoke..
I was like CRAP..I killed it..but how? I was happy to find out after thinking about it that the diode saved the motor/pump from death.
unhooked the dead diode and the pump fired right up..
then I knocked off the linkage inside the Seawolf...Arrgghh..
what a Biotich (hehe) to get in there and make repairs.

The good news is I made the latch for the Seawolf work, looks like a ring for the inside mid-section but 1 screw holds the hulls together. I hope the rest of the week will get better.

    I'm sorry for your bad

I'm sorry for your bad luck, but this will pass. Sometimes after doing heavy physical work, it is not good to do detailed fine work. Our brains need to shift down to a different dexterity mode. Kinda like chopping wood, then doing brain surgery, you just don't want to stagger over to the operating table like John Wayne and....'yank it out of there'. LOL.

Your wife will be happy for the time on your home, she will let you finish your building project dreams too.

      If you hooked up the

If you hooked up the wrong polarity to the pump, the diode works as a short circuit. The smoke probably came from the diode itself. When using the diode, no mistakes must be made with regard to the polarity. Without the diode, your pump would have turned backwards, whatever the effect of that might have been.
