    Mark,

    Ya that is a problem.

    Mark,

Ya that is a problem. If you can break it or cut it a part. It will be a pain to mount the WTC any other way really.

The two screws work so well at holding the hull together I'm suprised really. Solid as a rock. Better than the Kilo.

If you used Tamiya extra thin glue to bond the parts you could put some more on the seem and it should release the parts. Other wise use a razor saw.

I might just use the "All Wet" idea and place the motor and steering servo in the wet, I'll just buy a new Seawolf
    and build it correctly...

might even do trade with somebody for say a Seawolf for a unopened Revell of Germany VII 1/72 scale boat

but for now that is my option since it works for my other sub(UBOAT) but the rest of the ideas I have parts around the house I can use.. I will get a good jump on it this weekend
and see how far I can get before I have to go back to work Sunday morning... too much overtime lately and no time for myself

Also..I orderd a new ESC from tower hobbies this morning, called the ESC-01..this thing is TINY and perfect for the trumpeter Kilo. small everything and w/rev! should be a perfect fit for the Kilo WTC and I think the S-100
I'll see what I can get done Saturday and email you pictures and I hope a blasted video of the Kilo in the Koi pond

        Jeff you got me there.

Jeff you got me there. I liked the way it looked on the box. It just looks so plain all black. Right on target my friend.

Well i got the decals all on. Now to weather, rust and scum line. I love this part of the build.

Then we'll see this weekend how she does with the Kilo WTC.

        Thanks Jeff,

              I have a solution

              Steve

I have a solution to my hull problem, I'm going to spilt the WTC into two halves, in the middle section a brass plate will be placed inside the hull with a thread and I use a 4-40 size
screw to hold the bottom to the top! I'm going to make this
fastner in the morning and then see if this works well, which I believe it will.. Thanks for the idea! I used the same idea on my I-19 sub to hold the hulls together and it works great.

I'm going to draw this out so I don't forget..

Ok Mark. good luck with it. Next time just wait a beat.

Well these pictures suck until tomorrow when I can get it in the sun. The flash washes out a lot of the details I spent hours doing.

She's finished. Better pics tomorrow guys.

                  Steve,
Very nice paint job! I hope the one I'm working on comes out that good. I'm building one for a Chief that is retiring out of my shop to display on his desk at his new job. He served on the connecticut. I am going to do an article on different things that can be done with static models other than the normal put it in a case, for the SCR. The paint scheme I'm going with (the chief requested this) is the one she was delivered to the navy with. The sonar dome, black top and bottom to the point where the dome bolts to the rest of the hull, from there aft black top red bottom. I plan on using the white striping around the hatches as this was also part of the as delivered paint scheme. The white striping was painted over black by the navy after delivery. Subsequent paint jobs of the boat have changed to all black top and bottom. I'm not sure why though.
I myself prefer the way you painted your boat. It's more pleasing to the eye. When I do one for myself it will be painted much like yours. Again VERY NICE JOB!!
                  Take care

                    Thanks very much! I hope

Thanks very much! I hope she sails as good as she looks. Pretty darn boat it is.

Shop huh? What kind of shop. Just curious. I'm sure yours will look as good if not better. Start to finish I only sent about 4 days on her including the linkages. I need to take more time next boat. And on my Washington I will do that.

I have a bunch of CGI work and editing coming up next week so I wanted to finish the boat before all that started.

More work for the History channel again. Stinking UFO's one more bloody time. When will they ever give me a sea battle to do? hopefully with subs too!

                    Thanks again Boss!

And hey you get to contribute to something that really maters. Be proud! Thanks for keeping those nukes working for us. They are truly the peace keepers!

                            The scheme you describe

                            Hi Don,
The scheme you describe is pretty much the same as what's in Matt Thor's instructions. I went with this, along with some vague memories...

Much more interesting than the current all-black scheme.

On another note, just flipped through this thread from the beginning and noticed that the Japanese modeler used a Toshiba battery to power his boat. Too funny!

Someone needs to do a cut and hack job on a Trumpeter hull to replicate this boat.

                                Again mate, great job.
