      Been looking at the preassembled

      Steve
Been looking at the preassembled WTCs etc from Mikes and was wondering if the 3" system would work in my Type XXI. This should slip inside the kits WTC and using the geared dual drive system would replace the existing set up.
Is the system you went with?
How much weight did you remove by not using the pressure tubes?
      Thanks

        Hi Steve,

        I used the stock

        Hi Steve,

I used the stock Robbie WTC, I braced it considerably and cut out space to mount the 2 bow planes servoes alonside the other 2. I mounted 2 subtech seals side by side at the top half of the aft end cap. the pushrods run aft through these seals. 2 flexible pushrods run along the top of the WTC and connect to the aforementioned pushrods with ball links. It comes out looking like 180 degree bend from aft to forward. this enabled me to discard the "servo box" forward and still be able to slide the entire R/C assembly out as designed.
I was able to reduce lead weight by 1/3 by discarding the tubes. They serve no purpose so far as I can tell. I did a quick experiment with them by ballasting to decks awash, and then inserting the tubes, the boat then rode at the scale surfaced waterline! perhaps this is their purpose? it is a dynamic diver after all. I have a tank in it of course.
        I hope this helps.
        Steve
