    Bob,

    where are you control levers

    Bob,

where are you control levers for the rudder and the rear dive planes?
    This should shed some light...

This picture was taken before I repainted her, so the linkages are far better concealed under her paint now. If you look at the photo that I posted at first, you can see the rudder linkage at the bottom of the rudder. It's just a tiny arm and rod, barely visible unless you look closely. The majority of the linkage is run within the tail.

      Thanks bob,

One more question, do you run the rudder control rod through a tube inside the tail or did you just dig out a channel and then cover it with without a tube for the rod to slide in.

Hi Carcharadon...I watched your videos, and the four foot boat looks like the just the ticket ! I also have sent you an email, and hope that you can provide some details on the construction of your boat. Bob Martin has built the finest model of Nautilas that I have ever seen, but for my purposes, your propulsion system and general boat layout will probably work a little better. Thanks very much.

The pushrod itself is 1/16" diameter, and it runs inside a 1/8" ID square tube. Square was used so that it would sit inside the routered channel easier and cover better afterwards. It meant redoing about fifty rivets or so, but it was well worth it in the end. The only evidence of the surgery is the short length of pushrod between the tail and the rudder...
