    Akula under water video

Got this great little WTC for a video camera system designed by David Merriman. David did a great job on this system so by the time I got it was turn key. All I did was strap it on the boat and hit record.

Was able to shoot the video and edit it all in one day.

I will be posting an article by David that documents the design, construction and use of this great little system later next week.

David shot some great video of the FS-1 and Permit using this new system that I will post some of as well. There will be a complete DVD documenting every aspect of the project. I think David will make them available so others can get in on the fun.

i was impressed with your editing and music and the underwater viewing window in your pool more than i was of the quality of the onboard video... looked like you could only use the footage from the boat when it was near the surface...

could you post a pic of your window in your pool? that was pretty nice feature.......

      Nothing to be impressed by

Nothing to be impressed by but thanks just the same. I work in the film biz and that's what I do all the time.

As far as the window goes there wasn't one. It was the same device just lowered into the pool.

My depth was limited my bad reception caused by my idiot pool man who puts so much clorine in the pool that birds die when they pass over it.

As I said there will be a complete article about the device and WTC soon. This was the first time I used it.

          Good stuff!

I have been thinking about getting one of those cameras. One of the guys at work just bought one and I was impressed with it for what it costs. Is there a way to get come up with a floating antenna or underwater receiver?

            Gunter,

Thank you. We have kicked that around. We have yet to test it in fresh water. I'm sure there will be more experiments ahead.

You can't beat the price on the camera system. If you go to Ebay and do a search will find these units as low as 30 bucks sometimes.

That was way cool and that Dumas Akula can haul serious butt. I think she can go a tad bit faster than true scale speed.

So true. That's the problem with a dynamic divers. They need that speed to keep them under. I will down the road but an RCABS system in this boat too. Just too busy on other subs right now that are static divers.

                Thanks Novagator,
