    Engel Laffayette - Bayonette ring

    I am having problems with the sealing of this unit, I have tried using the soft O rings with lots of grease but i still am getting the same sealing problems.
    Is there a solution without having to change the bayonette ring,? which would be a major job to try and remove.

    That kit has an aluminium bayonet ring, you really shouldn't get a problem with this, unless]

      ive just checked the bayonette

      ive just checked the bayonette ring and the surfaces seem to be pitted would that cause a problem?. if so what is the best course of action?

        Possibly. but it's difficult to

        Possibly. but it's difficult to say without having it in front of me.

        If the pits are really bad, then a light sand with some fine wet and dry may help.

          Thanks for the advice, ive had a go and got most of the surface clean, just hope the test run works. had this sub for about a year now and still never got running right. its now or next stop ebay.
