    Turbobearcat , where did you

Turbobearcat , where did you get your prop at?

I am also working on one of these kits and just ordered a Mtroniks Sonik4 RV Max w/Reverse 8T ESC, hope it works well with this setup. This I bought from Hobby People.

I also have coming a Futaba "4WD" radio, I liked it because it has the small receiver. Bought this from Tower Hobbies.

Check the Wallyworld sub and Seawolf prop message bases.

it only costed me a buck from electronic goldmine.

      Thanks Mark, ordered the prop/fan

Thanks Mark, ordered the prop/fan and a couple of spares.

The electronic goldmine is a scary place to go, seems I always find things there that I didn't know I needed(LOL).

Did you see their water detector kit?

Ordered some of the large air bladders from them also in preparation for Dave's next WTC kit for the seawolf.

        I just got my Kilo

I just got my Kilo kit from Dave, the main reason I purchased it so I can see first hand how a RCABS system is put togehter
and see how to put together a DRY WTC. I still like my wet hull and dry only electronics with the motor and servo's on the wet but this kit opens some new doors for me .

I ordered enough parts to complete not only my Kilo but my Seawolf and my other VII boat still in the box..

        hehe

Doesn't bother me. I'll save the real scale look for my larger more involved subs.

                    Gerwalk,
                    Look at it from this

                    Gerwalk,
Look at it from this prospective. The fact that venders are going through the trouble of converting some of the static sub models to r/c could very well spark a genuine love for this hobby. It gives people who may not be able to go out and buy a high end kit an option, at a much cheaper price. One vender is working on a kit to make the Trumpeter seawolf more accurate, some more are offering upgrade kits for the typeVII from Revell, I don't know of any doing kits for other subs. I have built quite a few plastic static kits and none of them are all that accurate.
There are even a couple of venders that offer inexpensive kits (sort of middle of the road) that are easy to build and fun to drive, like subtech, but to some it is easier to spend 30 or so dollars on a hull, then nickel and dime the rest of the stuff they need to make it work utilizing the WTC kits put out by Big Dave. I too like U812 just plan on having fun with my converted static boats and saving the fine details for my higher end kits.
I don't mean to sound like I'm talking down to you because I'm not. I'm just saying to look at it from a different angle.

                        Gerwalk,
Unfortunately I have a hard enough time with english (my native tongue LOL). I did however manage to pick my way through the pages and some of the links, very nice pictures of the Kilo all over the place. Makes me wish I studied more back in my 8th grade spanish class. Take care and thanks for the link.

Anytime! Take your time to surf around El Snorkel site. There is a lot of excelent information and pictures not ussually available from other sources (the good thing of having a lot of submariners from many different countries)

I'm planning to put some of that info in english after returning home (i.e. having access to my poor Kilo once again) next August. Sort of step by step construction of the Trumpeter Kilo and how to ruin your life paying attention to details
BTW: the Maquette Kilo in 1/400 is a much better representation of the real thing.

PS: I've found my spanish pretty useful here in the states, not only for obtaining bigger burritos. For instance today I managed to get an earlier appointment with the dentist just because her secretary speaks spanish!!

                            Steve,

                            what kind of servos did

                            Steve,

what kind of servos did you use for the rudder and dive planes? HS-50 or HS-55? also, what servo did you use to control the release valve on your ballast system?

                              I used the claer blue

I used the claer blue 55's. On the valve and switch an old CS-21bb. Really any small servo will work for that. the 55's work very well.

                              Hope that helps.

I finally got the ST-10, BE/VR and lipo pack all made up so I'll be able to test her and get video later next week.
