U-96 used in Das Boot

Hi guys,

I've seen the movie a couple of times now, great flic! I don't know if some of you (if you have seen it) still remember the scene of U-96's first dive? It was after a crew man on the conning tower yelled "AAAALLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAARMMMMMMM!!!!!!"

The sub went diving head first, you can see part of the stern pop up after the conning tower disappeared beneath the waves... perhaps the crew decided to not fill in ballast and dive quickly (fullscale dynamic dive)? Or is it just the way that the model was made to dive? The 34 foot model used was RC.

Funny thing about that movie,

Funny thing about that movie, it was loaded with funny sceens and the Fireboot drill was one that sticks to my mind
and then "Crabs! a Whole army of them, with a winky like yours they will eat it down to the bone in no time!"

Ahhhh if they can only make movies like that one again!
