Would it be wrong to....

Everyone that buys the fxmodels alvin like mine, always makes the alvin lol... would it be wrong to do something different with it? Say to paint it bright yellow and make it a tourists sub like you see on some of the vacation spots???
or should i just follow suit and make it "Alvin"?

I look at it this way. If you want to say,"This is a scale model of the Arvin", don't change it. But if you want to make something different, based on the Alvin hull, go for it!! There are Fantasy subs, NASCAR subs, transparent subs and so on. It's your sub and as long as you're satisfied and having fun, that's what it's all about.

This is one hobby where I feel that you should be able to "draw outside the lines" whenever you feel like it. make the sub any way you want. It is 8 pieces of fiberglass bought from a guy in connecticut. what you do with those 8 pieces is completely up to you, and what-ever creative inspiration that drives you.
