    75AM radio w/4 channels - should I?

[color=#0000FF]I know what the answer might be but for the price and my ever end quest to find a good radio for a good afordable price.
Well I found a radio on towerhobbies.com that is for surface
and either 27Mhz/75Mhz.. it has 4 channels and for under $50 just for the radio I was thinking this sounds cheap, for a small sub and a model conversion this would be a good idea.
the reciever I believe was almost 40 more..not sure..but any ideas??

Yes I know it's AM but AM/FM both work fine under water. ]

    Mark,

    This is about as cheap

    Mark,

This is about as cheap as you can go and still get a decent radio. For 109.00 you get two servos and the reciever. I got one of these for my Akula and it works great.

It has no memory for additional boats but you can just buy another RX or two and put them in your other subs.

I'm very happy with it and you get 4 channels on the sticks.

              Mark,

              The Futaba 4WD is AM

              Mark,

The Futaba 4WD is AM but I haven't noticed a problem with it in the pool. Down to about 4 ft. it keeps working. So in fresh water it should work even better. For 109 bucks you can't beat it.

              My 2 cents.

                  Can you make do with

Can you make do with three channels? I found a Hitech three channel radio on tower hobbies for $69.99 that I think I am going to get for my next project, a Flower class corvette. I was I bit leery when I saw how cheap it was, thinking it might be one of those get-what-you-pay-for things, but I have a Hitech radio for my Gato and it works great.

Does anyone know anything about this radio? It is a Hitech Ranger I believe.

                      But the third channel isn't

But the third channel isn't on the sticks. So you have throttle left and right and the third one is a nob. right?

                          I'm about to go down

[color=#0000FF]I'm about to go down this rout with the Ranger and then keep what Steve was talking about with the Futaba radio..
Either way I go I hope to have a winner!

when it comes to my I19, I'm just going to use Airtronics micro parts, it's 72 Mhz but it's so small and a perfect fit inside the sub! ]
