    Pushrod Seals

    Hi,

Whats the best way to seal the pushrods? I planned on using the bellows but was wondering about other types before I committed myself.

    Thanks Michael

    You can use o-rings, Subtech

You can use o-rings, Subtech seals(these are so inexpensive, it's hardly worth the hassle making your own), or flexible silicone tubing. The latter is for when you are ona very tight budget.

Bellows work great though, especially for linear movement. So if you already have those, stick with 'em.

Some people claim this. Some are concerned that the air inside the bellows compresses and compromises the seal of the bellows on the shaft.

I've never seen any evidence of this, personally. My Seehund has been down to about 12 feet in depth, without a drop of water getting in.

Robbe use bellows on their kits, as do OTW, Sheerline and Graupner. Never heard any complaints about the quality of seals on those models.

          G'day all

I've always found that a Nylex type garden irrigation nozzle works really well.

          http://www.nylex.com.au/cgi-bin....en2.htm

Sorry i could'nt get this down any better.

anyway have a little look at the plastic nozzle called the

          MSA 45 4/5mm adaptor.

Nylex is an aussie company. You may be able to find equivalent over in the states. I don't know...

A 3/32 brass tube fits through these perfectly. Put a silicon tube over the other end and an O ring and it does'nt leak.

          hope this helps ,

          regards,
