prop shaft seal decision - which do you prefer?

sorry if this seems like a dumb set of questions... but im buying alot of my components for my scratch sub and just trying to get some feedback from people that have used both of these products...

Can someone tell me the differences, if any, between the prop shaft seal from subtech, SBS - 2 Stuffing Box w/Seal, and the alexander engel shaft seals?

Is one better than the other or are they equally durable and sealable... can multiple engel seals be placed in a shaft tube to lessen possible leakage?

as it stands right now im leaning towards the engel seals since reading through the subconcepts guides. That site is well documented and very explanitory for newcomers and the substech stuff just says "stuffing box" buy it now...

I agree with Tim, both work just fine.

One note. Do not use multiple seals on the same shaft. Shaft seals (any shaft, not just our little sub ones) are designed to have the fluid being sealed out used as a lubricant for the seal. A second seal upstream will accomplish nothing more than adding additional drag to the shaft, putting more strain on the motor and shotening run time. In addition, without regular lubrication, it will overheat, harden, and become useless.

Use one seal, in the proper location and orientation, and take care of it. Lube it now and then, and replace it if you see any signs of leakage past it. A five cent seal isn't worth losing a boat over.
