    Running lights - Running lights

Just wondering whats the best way to install running lights?
I have seen one sub rigged up with 1.5v globes linked back to a AA 1.5v battery. No effort was made to waterproof the lights, battery holder or battery. The system worked fine, and the subs owner said that the total cost of the three globes used, wire, battery connector and double AA battery was under $5 so he'd just replace all of it when it eventually failed.
    What do others do?
    Thanks

    Hey John,

Not exactly accurate, but for night runs I rely mostly on an external magnetically-attached red/green flashing LED tie clip from Jaycar. Small, light, waterproof and very bright. Jim had one on his 688 at the SubRegatta, and here's a couple of photos of my Akula with one at the recent SSS run.

I also have some internal red LED's lighting up my WTC, though as they only shine out the limber holes, you have to be fairly close to the waterline to see them. Mainly for pool usage

      Slats,

I've got over 20 high-output LEDs in my Nautilus. I just ran the power to my main power leads and slathered some rubber on the exposed leads from the LEDs. Works great!

One mistake that I did make was that when I calculated the rating for my diodes, I failed to consider that a fully charged 12V battery is putting out about 14V, NOT 12V! I've blown out a few of my LEDs, and I've yet to drop down the power to the rest of them. It's on my to-do list.
