epoxy question - small question..big help

    Hello all-
I am building a Thor flt III LA boat and have searched high and low and can only find the 30 minute variety of epoxy at the local hobby shop. Is that sufficient...or do I need to keep looking? If not, can anyone recomend a website to order it. I of course want something waterproof. Any recommendations would be of help.

      Bryan,

The general rule-of-thumb is that it needds to be at least a 90-minute epoxy to make sure that it is waterproof. I've seen even the 60-minute stuff get soft (like taffy) after an hour or two of submerged use......

Not sure of the best place for epoxy on the web, but the place I go to for various bits and pieces is McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com).

          Have you tried a local

Have you tried a local boat repair shop? I use West Systems epoxy and I think it is great. I use their metered pump system when making up batches, and yes I throw away some every time, but I get good results every time.
On the web, go to West Systems. There you can find a dealer near you. Good luck.
