    Hi Y'all,

    I want to add

    Hi Y'all,

I want to add my humble oppinion to this thread. I am a modeler with extensive scratch building experience. I have worked in GRP, metals, polymers etc...
I think Robbe has a good thing here! The WTC design is simple, durable, and fits all of thier sub kits.
They have created kits that are within reach of the novice but can easily be jazzed up by an expert modeler. I am building a U-47 kit right now, It will be every bit as scale and functional as my scratch built Type II and I dare say she will be a show stopper!
Yes the Robbe kits have no Scribing and are generally "soft" on scale. For a skilled modeler this is a "Blank Canvas" on which to work our art.
Lets all remember that these posts are read by many novices, who take our opinions seriously. Lets not steer them away from a good start in the hobby.
    Steve

      hi Steve, hey, what scale

hi Steve, hey, what scale is your type II? I scratch built one in 1/32nd scale that runs and also have a scratch built 1/24th type II hull and tower in my rafters waiting on retirement to finish. Do you have any photos of your sub posted anywhere? Thanks for the info on the new Robbe XXI, As much as I like scrach built subs, a kit now and again is a real break..... Jeff Jones sc#258
