Revell VII conversion complete - :-) it's ready for testing

Well I got myself outside and test float the revell VII UBOAT and got what appears good balance, just need to secure the WTC inside the hull not and she is ready for a test on the pool or shallow lake, I had to make some changes to inside the sub like make the WTC smaller in lenght to get things to work out and use a smaller battery in size but over all I believe this to be the working unit I'm going to use.

Good luck and could you post some more photo's of the internals. How'd you do the motors, what do you use for a diving tank etc.

Well I can tell you

Well I can tell you first off it's a dynamic diver, it uses 1 motor
that feeds a gear box and both screws. the WTC is very primitive
but not leaking..2.5' in dia.. wet motor and servos.
Styrofoam inside..

very simple pain but it was the first one to build so the next one won't be as bad, twin engines for the next sub.

It is good to see

It is good to see someone make progress.

I finally got the power system finished on mine. I tried two shafts geared with the original props.....Noisy and inefficient. Single shaft in the center with one motor direct drive....OK but just did not look right.

Finally this weekend two shafts, slightly more efficient three blade props, one speed 400 direct drive to one shaft with a cog belt drive to the second shaft. Powerful, quiet, and looks right.

Now to water test the equipment installation and seal up the central compartment. Then on to the details.

Please post pictures of your set up. I'm putting mine together now and was planning two motors but I have a lot of sp 400's around here from my days before brushless used on my planes.

Sorry I have been away

Sorry I have been away for a while, with my Wedding so close to testing out the sub, it was delayed until I got back from the Honeymoon, which was this week so I'm ready to test this sub but now the weather here is getting chilly and I wonder if somebody near me might have a heated pool to test the Uboat.
