The Building of the USS Alligator - by David Merriman III
thanks Antoine for sharing with us these wonderful photos of David Merriman III's work.
I'm amazed by the skills of this extraordinary craftsman.
At least for me, these photos are really inspiring to improve my modelling skills (knowing, of course, that I'll never reach his level of craftsmanship!!! ).

I was re-watching the photos, and a question arose...is this model for RC or just for static display?
On a first look I assumed the photos depicted the building of a master for a hollow GRP hull, but now I'm not so sure...anyway, it's amazing to see how Merriman managed to build an ovoidal hull without carving the shape entirely out of seasoned wood (that, I think, would've required a HUGE amount of sanding and filling!!)

Holy cow!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there anything with RC subs that Dave does badly?
I don't care if I'm feeding his ego. The benchmark for the wow factor keeps on rising.
Dave you are a credit to our hobby.
I'm totally blown away yet again.
Fantastic!!
