    Serious issues with my radio

    I have a JR xp6102, and in PPM mode (ie FM) everthing works fine untill you kill the power on the transmitter to simulate lose of signal and then everything go crazy. The servos start spinning and the fail safe does not work.

    When I switch to S-PCM mode (Pulse code modulation) nothing responds to the receiver at all. The servos will do their own thing and the motor goes crazy.

    I need some help. Anyone have these issuses with a JR radio?

          It may be that the receiver is an FM-only receiver?

              some PCM radios are not

              some PCM radios are not compatible with some of the aftermarket circuitry.

                  Well I ordered a S-PCM

                  Well I ordered a S-PCM receiver today, I will see how that works out. If not it will be returned, and i will be searching for a new radio. I do in fact have an FM receiver.

                      Please post when you find out if it works. I am experiencing the exact same symptoms with my Airtronics VG600 and thought I'd lost my boat from it.

                              I do not have a

                              I do not have a JR radio but have a Futaba 9 CAP progrmaable radio. The PCM features usually have a built in fail safe as part of the radio system. In PCM mode aftermarket recievers will not work with the radio Theyw ill work usually when in the PPM mode which can be set on your radio to work with aftermarket receivers. Also use only Crystals for the JR radio as other brands will sometimes have a negative effect as well. The computer radios are fantastic but they do have their quirks. I use my radio in the FM PCM surface mode using a plug in module for my boats and then plug in an Aircraft 72mhz module to fly my planes. Once you get use to using and understanding the radio I am sure you will really enjoy all its features. Dr Dave
