Electric motor in free flooded space. - Revell Type VIIc

I'm working on a conversion of the Revell Type VIIc to R/C.
I'm wondering if anybody has expirience using electric motors in the freeflooded space. It would greatly simplify things if I can just drop the Buehler into the freeflooded space without having to worry about sealing the shaft.
I imagine it will not cause too many trouble in fresh water (non-conductive).

          last summer when i was

last summer when i was fooling around with my own subs, i made a sub that was bascially 3 plastic bottles with 2 small bottles being the ballast tanks and the single big one housing all the electronics. this sub was powered by 2 mabuchi type electric motors stuck on the side of the sub, so the motors were always submerged in the water. after about 1 hour, those motors didn't work anymore under water. however, when OUT of the water, the motors still worked.

            motor runs in the water,

motor runs in the water, rc car and rc plane people, break in their motor in a cup of water.

most of my sub's motors are in the wet.
            very easy to set up.
            but use only cheap one.
have to change them how and then.

            here why.
they go bad, oxidation at these points.

the would be motors set up in my type VII, the motor may be too small, to slow for dyameic diving, have to test it out.

it going to be fun to change motors out in the type VII, when the boat is finish, no room!

I am setting up the rudder now.
will post more as things go.

                you could post your pics

you could post your pics on another message boards that actually allows you to "attach" pictures to your post. from there you can use the URL from that message board page and paste it in the box when you click on the iB Code Button, called "Image"

                    you can see the motor

you can see the motor and gear box setup here..

the front diving planes setup from here and yes the servo is not mounted as of this picture but I held it in place and check the movement, the pitch of the diving planes where around 20-25 degree angle which works fine.

this gives you a view of the unfinished WTC but it sits snug in there!

and the outside of the Uboat.

I am waiting for a few thiings to happen right now, mainly to get a Motor speed controller. but from what I have seen so far this thing should run very well.
