Greg Sharpe's Nautilus - Info on the boat

[color=#000000]Greg's Nautilus is one of the nicest ones I know, there aren't a lot of pictures about this boat on his website (only a few pictures or so). Does anyone have more info on that boat? E.g.]

      Greg has two models of

Greg has two models of Verne's Nautilus operational. The first (top shelf, left hand side) is the better looking of the two (in my opinion). It's got a really neat overlapping plate effect for the hull and retractable wheelhouse and lanterns (non-RC).

The second one (top shelf center)is more accurate to the book. I also believe that it's the earlier version (I may stand to be corrected).

Both are superb examples of Greg's engineering know-how. You can purchase complete plans for BOTH subs directly from his website, so conveniently posted for us by Andy (but I'll put it here again just so you don't have to scroll up again....Deep Sea Designs)

Also in this shot is his torpedo firing sturgeon (middle shelf, left side), his semi-scale Russian Beluga (workbench, center), and his infamous "Russian Seaview" (middle shelf, right side). I love the Seaview. He put an Alfa sail on the model, added LED lighting and twin screws. It looks absolutely awesome. It's a bit old though, I'm told, and he's got plans for a refit, particularly in the aft propulsion end of things.

      Hope this helps.

P.S. the woman in the shot is my wife holding my son, Logan.

        ALRIGHT!

        I am glad to see

        ALRIGHT!

I am glad to see that Greg has a website and pictures to show off.

I have had a set of his NAUTILUS plans for years now and they are excellent! I am currently working on my third attempt at building one in 72nd scale - so far, so good...

        Gotta bookmark that site!

          Thanks for the picture Bob,

Thanks for the picture Bob, I got a closer look on the Beluga, never actually seen the sub's full hull yet! Greg's second Nautilus (RC one) look's a bit similar to John Dutton's design except the wheelhouse. Any idea on the sub that is on the low shelf on the left? Looks like an L.A. boat.

It's interesting how I can't seem to see the difference between Greg's workbench and mine!
