    Chuck,

    ....remember....you asked! http://www.subcommittee.com/forum/icon_biggrin.gif

    The stock robbe

    Chuck,

    ....remember....you asked!

The stock robbe kit is intended to be a representation of the U-47, which is a Type VIIB. This class of boats did not have an Atlantic bow. For those who are looking to convert the kit into a Type VIIC, then in some cases making the Atlantic bow modification would be appropriate. (it is boat specific)

While I cannot comment on what your bow modification looks like (there aren't any photos on your web site of it?), you mentioned that "the bow should be a bit longer and sharper"...

The non-Atlantic bow is a very fine bow with an almost dished-in look to it. On the other hand, the Atlantic bow looks quite bulbous by comparision.

Also, the photo that you show of the underside of the modified stern looks like it is too sharp and angular. The transition from the stock hull to your new section also looks too abrupt. More photos taken from different angles would help!

    -hope this helps,

    Jeff

        Hi Chuck,

        I know what you

        Hi Chuck,

I know what you mean about reference materials! The VOZM with it's photos and drawings should be a big help in seeing what the stern and bow lines look like.
