Using a stabilized receiver for pitch control

I am asking if anyone has tried using a stabilized receiver to replace a pitch control, and what the results were? With newer computerized radios and modes of using 2.4ghz and the 900mhz bands while submerged, it might eliminate a piece of hardware that us dinosaurs have used for 30 years.

Yes, Ed and I have done it. It's not ideal and not quick and easy by any stretch. They're really set up primarily for aircraft, focusing more on roll stability, not pitch. It's feasible to make work (and we've done it), but cheaper, simpler and with more flexibility to get a dedicated pitch controller.
