RedOctober 1/400 scale RC converted - RC Converted

For some of you fans of the Hunt for Red October movie, I mananged to convert over the revell model to a dynamic
diver using a now departed B-2 bomber electronics.
The design is fairly simple, I just used the torpedo motors from
the small toy boats and used them on the inside of the sub and then dipped the circuit board in black silicone for water proofing. no WTC! the battery is a small 300mah battery but the speed of the sub makes her dive and the steering is done by the propellers. From what I have seen so far it's going to be fun if I get it ready for next weekend.
I only wish I had my 1/350 scale Typhoon ready!

So does anybody have a Revell VII board ready yet and will you be bringing one?

Any chance you can post some pictures?

On a different note, I was at radio shack today and I noticed that the little zip zap cars now have proportional steering. I couldn't tell if fwd/rev is now proportional. Anyway, this could be another source for small electronics to convert static models to rc.

these pictures are of the Red October and it's a simple design, it should be fun to use but I think the run time is going to be very small unless I learn not to run with the throatle open all the time I could write something up but only aafter I get to test this thing out and make sure it's going to work very well first. I built one like this before as a pool tool but it was set the rudder and watch it go type of toy, which I built for years for my son as he grew up.
I still have my USS OHIO sub from 15 years ago...it still works for some reason! but I will get to testing it this week for you guys and I hope to bring it with me come this coming weekend.

            pics work. kinda blurry, but

pics work. kinda blurry, but they do give a good idea of how you got it to work. i remember seeing a pic of a piston type diving cell using a microservo in one of my how-to sub books that i assume was made this type of model a static diver
