I'm in Vancouver, and I heard there will be a subcomIP run near me (at Cultus lake) in August.

    Thanks for all the input,

      Hi Mark!

I myself live in Ontario and unfortunately, Subconcepts does not send items to Canada. Yes, high custom charges don't forget, you can always try RCing mini plastic sub models later, I'm trying to get my Kilo up and running, lots to do this summer!

WOW ! What a lucky guy ! Right up in your neighborhood, in the Vancouver BC area, lives Bob Martin, who goes by the avitar of Bob the Builder. Bob the Builder scratch built model of the Nautilas (Disney-like), that is absolutley stunning. I think that it was his first sub, but the point is that he is a guy who could sure give you the best possible kind of information regarding the hobby. He could save you a ton of heartache and wasted money and time.
My .02 worth...Albacore or Marlin. Look great in the water, easy to build, affordable, very high probability of success, easy to transport and maintain. I don't think that you would ever be sorry that you got one.

            Last I heard, the Cultus

Last I heard, the Cultus Lake run was delayed until this fall. We recently had a fun run out here in Victoria over the course of a weekend. There was Saturday at the boat pond downtown and then Sunday out at Thetis Lake. I think we had somewhere around 8 subs out there altogether. It was my first submarine regatta, and I had a great time.

If you're ever out this way, be sure to let me know. We'll hook up and you can tour my drydock facility (a.k.a. garage). The intrepid Gred Sharpe is also out here. Maybe we could gather some boats and head to the lake for the day.

Feel free to email me if you want to get together, or just to chat on the phone.
