The 4 channel receiver, random find at evil bay. It will take JR type single conversion crystal, also have a old GWS receiver, Jam the little crystal in, and it works. So I ordered some more crystals. And the receiver is ( - ) shift! Love that polk's transmitter!
Squashed the receiver make stuffing it, in to a WTC easier.

2.4GHz. With out opening up the transmitter case.

Disclaimer. This is For Your Entertainment only.
This has been done by many people, companies for the pass 8 years, lot of YouTube videos.
          Got the idea from .

          Discontinued.
          Not as nutty as my.
Transforming a OLD airplane radio that is with out a module bay, to a 2.4GHz radio!
          That has a TRAINER PORT!

Will not voided the extended warranty of the 30 years young transmitter.

With out opening up the transmitter!
"OLD" Futada, Hitec, Airtronics with the round trainer port only.
Futaba new rectangle trainer port should work. But I Don't have a cable to test with.

JR Trainer port has no power out. That's not useable.
          To the Frankenstein's lab!

Why! That is a stupidest idea ever! You're right.
A brand new 2.4GHz beginner system is about $60 to $80. Or even less. Why on earth you do that for.

Don't know, because I can. Too many missing brain cells. 我鄉下慶!
As an excuse, is for the earth! REUSE!
All these begin with the 433 MHz system, now on the extinct list just like the 75 MHz, just substitute with the 2.4GHz stuff, that's all.

More excuse; computer radio drive me nuts!

          Parts:
Trainer cable for the target transmitter.

Or make one to your transmitter's spec.

          Interface board:
Not needed , just for the looks.

A JR or Futaba Formats 2.4GHz RF module.
That's a lot of protocols to pick from.
This doesn't sound right, but it makes sense to me.
Pick a make and model of the receiver frist! ( remember you have to extend the antenna), then match up with a same make transmitter module.

Hobbyking Orangerx DSMX/DSM2 ( on hand, DIY kit only)
Receiver, lots of cheap clones. Need soldering.

Frsky ( on hand diy kit only)
Very easy to replace a extanted antenna, on some receiver model. The small one need soldering to replace antenna.

          Corona ( don't have one)

Irangex (4 in 1, with the dial. Got one on a ship from China)
          Receivers, need to be tested.

Hitec (in the used market, discontinued. have one to test)

Spectrum (in the used market, discontinued)

Will skip all the DIY stuff. Save for the other Frankenstein transmitter build.

          The build.

          Soldering will require.
The interface board is from other uses. But it has all the connection for our use. And is cheap. Has the do nothing high tech look.
Also doubled up as a transmitter stand.

JR or FUTABA module Formats pick one.

Soldering the header for the type of module and the trainer cable.
          That's all.
Remember to remove the crystal, before power on.

After some self reasoning. No, skip the DIY modules, you can't get the types show any more. For the price of a DIY module, add couple more bucks you got a nice new 2.4GHz transmitter.
Too many YouTube videos on this subjects.

Is a cleaner looking on a old transmitter.
[ that will be a up coming Frankenstein transmitter] . Is matter on taste.

$25 synthesized RF "75 MHz module", not bad.
                I could live with it.
                To the Ebay getting more.

That all for now, thank you for you time.
Keep posting, if I come across something more stupid.

That reminds me of the diving transmitter case. Cool!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Try to replace a longer 2.4GHz antenna on a cheap receiver.

Update on Novak synthesized module stuffed in 9X JR bay.
Futaba RF bay need a lot of work to make it fit.
Find out some Futaba transmitter work and some don't, standby....
THIS is based on Airtronics M8 transmitter

                            JR receiver works in 75MHz.
                            Only tryed on 3 model.
Very odd to get them to work. Need range test .
Regular and universal one need to soldering, one need to move the jump pin.
For 75MHz crystal to work with Universal receiver.
JR/Airtronics to work, put the jumper to "Futaba position" and for Futaba/ Hitec do the opposite.
