nicads in H2O

looking for anyone who has tried this I have a 1/72 nautilus with home made wtc 2" and onlyhave room for a regular 6 cell pack I cant seem to find a gelcel small enough with enough juice to drive the system 6 vt 1 amp just isnt enough

any one tri nicads in the wet area please email me or post here I read the article in the report # 45 I think
but would like more info

Have you thought of using

Have you thought of using lithium ion packs? They are same size or smaller, and normally pack alot more juice than the NiCads. They are more expensive, but I think they are worth it.

thanks guys I wish I could afford the ion batteries but vacation comes first florida here I come
no salt water here in themid west so I am good to go

Like Matt said, you need to remove the shrink wrapped cover from the Ni-Cad pack to allow it to dry out. One thing you will notice is that the batteries are held together by the shrink wrap tubing. What I did to hold mine together was to use silicone to hold the batteries together. A little dab will do ya. Everytime you haul the boat out of the water, remove the pack and blow it off. Same thing goes for any electrical connection that is exposed to the water. I use the air in a can stuff made for PC's.
