    Camera's - an addition

Well, I just received my new pinhole color camera today. I am hoping to put it on my periscope once I get my sub a little further in development. The receiver was in my house on the TV and I walked about 100 ft outside where it just started loosing the signal. That might have been for the bouncing of my walking. I believe this unit has an output power of 200mW. The receiver and transmitter both can operate off of a 9V battery. I plan to use this at surface and PD. No expectations for underwater use.

    Similar to one I have

Similar to one I have used in the sail of my 1/72 L.A. It works well as long as the tip of the periscope is above water. See some Pictures on my L.A. album, and videos on the Documents page]My Webpage[/url]

      I saved you site to

I saved you site to my favorites. It is getting late. I will look at it soon. I don't have a sub yet but every step closer I get more excited!

        Did you modify the antenna

Did you modify the antenna any for longer ranges? Think an RF amp might help?

          I was told not to

I was told not to modify the antenna, so I just ran it up the inside of the scope, and I get adequate range of a few hundred feet, or more, above the water. When the antenna tip is just under water I can only get a few feet of transmission at the most. When the antenna tip is just above water, and the lens is just under water, I can read the signs I placed under the water at the opposite end of my swimming pool, over 40 feet away.

            OK. I found my problem.

OK. I found my problem. I was testing it indoors. I took my 13 TV/VCR combo (so I could record how it was doing) and I measured 272 Feet distance. I could have gone farther but I didn't think I'd be able to see my periscope from that distance. Then again, I could drive by camera? Is this hard to do?
