I have been trying to put my Permit WTC together, and somewhere along the way the three wire signal lead detached from the controller. I cannot tell which pin is the positive vs the negative. Also I am not super confident in my soldering skills of something that small. It seems like maybe the wires are suppose to actually thread into the control board before soldering? Do you guys think I would be better off just getting a new one? Its less then 2 weeks till the last SubComEast fun run of the year and I'd like to be in the water at least once.

I'm sorry to see you're having troubles with the MPC. The signal lead should come on to the board from the pump side, just like the power lead. The square pad (top pad in your third photo) takes the signal lead, the middle one gets the power lead, and the bottom one is ground. Putting a new lead on is easiest if you can clean out the old solder with solder-wick or a desoldering tool.

Mike, if you don't get it soldered, stick it in the mail to me. I'll solder it and mail it back in plenty of time for the run next Sunday.

          Hi Jim,
If it is not too much trouble I really appreciate it. I spent last night practicing soldering, and I just cannot seem to get it down small enough to trust it. I'll send it to you with a return label.
          Thank you again!

                  Jim,
Love the helping heart! You ROCK!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
